The Village of Lake Villa initially engaged ATI to complete cost analysis of various sidewalk options to connect existing subdivision sidewalk to the Oakland Elementary School District and beyond to Deep Lake Road to serve Lakes Community High School for the development of an IGA. ATI permitted and designed the sidewalk improvements, including:

 

• Aiding the Village with the easement acquisition
• Coordinating a pedestrian boardwalk bridge over the USACE wetland, obtaining a no impact determination for the USACE wetland
• Meandering layout of the sidewalk alignment: to avoid wetlands, maintain clearances from structures and hydrants; and to minimizing the impact to private property
• Incorporating a planter barrier to ease property owners concerns
• Canceled planned herbicide use to eliminate School District and property owner concerns

The project was completed in 2019.
