ATI has been hired to design the 11th Addition at the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District's Nine Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant (NSWWTP)! This project will involve conversion of the anaerobic digestion process to multi-stage acid phase digestion (mesophilic acid phase, thermophilic gas phase). The process was proposed to achieve the District’s goals for Class A biosolids for its Metrogro and Metromix program via a site specific Class A permit. These improvements will enable the District to achieve a reliable, cost-effective, sustainable process. The plan will also contribute to the long-term sustainability of the District’s biosolids management plan with the proposed struvite harvesting process for the NSWWTP.
