The construction contract for the upgrade and expansion project for the Town of Lyons Sanitary District No. 2 wastewater treatment plant was awarded to Miron Construction of Neenah, Wisconsin for a cost of $3.3 million. Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2010.

The existing facility was constructed in 1980 and a Facilities Plan was completed by ATI in 2006. The Plan recommended that the plant capacity be doubled with the construction of a new treatment plant. ATI began design of this project in May 2008.
